SOOT REMOVAL
Blastmaster works with several fire damage restoration companies to help remove smoke and soot from homes. Removing soot from brick and masonry can be difficult and chemical cleaners aren’t always enough. When brick or masonry is charred or heavily smoked, soda blasting can often remove it and leave the bricks clean and bright.

In addition to masonry cleaning, there are times when the sub-structure of a home/building is heavily smoked, but not charred so as to affect the structural integrity. In these situations, soda blasting can be used to remove only the very surface of the studs, joists, or plywood to reveal the new wood beneath. And since the blast media is baking soda, it has the added benefit of odor removal. It also gives the homeowner peace of mind to know that the soot has actually been removed and not just covered up with a sealer.
The same process can also be used in removing mold from sub-structures.
